recolor

A picture, repainted to an exact colour palette.

On the rail as recolor.

Repainting a picture in a precise set of colours you choose, while keeping its lighting, silhouettes and sense of depth in place.

It takes no prompt beyond notes pinned on the picture and repaints the whole picture into the palette; recolouring one thing while the rest keeps its colours is an edit in words. It cannot add a subject or recover lost detail.

  1. Drop a picture onto the card’s Image slot, from the board or your computer.
  2. Set Palette on the card.
  3. Pick a mode on the card: General, Portrait, Object.
  4. Pick a model in the pill at the top of the card, or keep GPT Image 2.5.
  5. Press Run.

Every colour in the picture moves to the palette, and nothing else changes: faces, text and every detail stay.

Models in this mode: GPT Image 2.5.

For pictures of people: the palette takes the clothes, the hair and the set.

Models in this mode: Grok Imagine 2.0, Bria Fibo Edit 1.5.

For one object or product on a backdrop: the object and its backdrop take the palette, its material, light and shadow stay.

Models in this mode: FLUX.2 Pro.

The pill at the top of the card picks the model. GPT Image 2.5 is the one a new card starts on.

Model Good for
GPT Image 2.5 General recolours: every surface of any picture repainted to the exact palette while faces, tattoos, text and the framing stay as they were.
Grok Imagine 2.0 Portraits where the people must stay who they are: the palette takes the clothes, hair and set, faces keep their detail.
Bria Fibo Edit 1.5 Portraits where the people may be drawn again: a fresh, natural-looking take on the palette, cheaper than Grok.
FLUX.2 Pro A single object or product on a backdrop: the object and backdrop take the palette’s exact colours while glass, chrome, ceramic and the ground shadow stay true.

Not the one for: It repaints skin with everything else, so it is the wrong pick when people should keep a natural skin tone; that is Portrait.

Quality How hard the model works on the repaint. Higher holds finer detail, costs more and takes longer. Low, Medium, High, Very High, Max
Resolution Output size. 2K and 4K cost more. 1K, 2K, 4K

Not the one for: Less of the picture lands exactly on the colours than in General, and a full-length shot with small figures is General’s job.

Quality Medium holds more detail and costs more. Low, Medium
Resolution Output size. 2K costs more. 1K, 2K

Not the one for: It redraws faces and can move the framing, so it is the wrong pick when the person must stay recognisable.

Not the one for: Built for one object; a busy scene or a crowd of people belongs to General or Portrait.
