relight

Move the light on any picture or clip.

On the rail as relight.

Changing where the light comes from in a photo or a clip you already have: drag a light over it, set its colour and softness, see it live, then render it relit with real shadows and highlights.

Not for changing what is in the shot, its pose, its motion or its background. It keeps the scene and only moves the light; for a new look, use an image editor or Video Restyle.

  1. Use the card’s Reference area. The picture or clip to relight. Drag the light over it and set its colour and softness.
  2. Pick a model in the pill at the top of the card, or keep GPT Image 2.5.
  3. Press Run.

Reference The picture or clip to relight. Drag the light over it and set its colour and softness.
Run Starts the run. The number on it is what this run costs in credits, worked out before you press.
×1 Runs the card several times in a row with the same settings. 1 to 99

The pill at the top of the card picks the model. GPT Image 2.5 is the one a new card starts on.

Model Good for
GPT Image 2.5 Prompt-scoped edits on one to six reference images with an optional mask, holding subject, composition and background across successive rounds; the everyday variant, quicker than Sunburst at the same price.
Nano Banana Pro Google’s Nano Banana Pro on its true edit endpoint, the premium harmonizer on Blend in Scene and Social Media: position-faithful over up to fourteen inputs and composition-aware, so shadows, perspective and lighting integrate automatically.
H3 Max Relight Relighting a clip quickly and cheaply: the shot, the people and their motion stay as they were and only the light changes.

Not the one for: Caps at six reference images and changes only what the prompt names, so it is the wrong pick for a bigger reference set or for a full restyle that should reinterpret the whole frame.

Setting What it does Choices
Keep the background as it is On, the new lights fall on the subject and the background keeps its own light. Off, the background takes the new light too. On or off
Fill light How much soft light fills the shadows: low keeps them deep, high keeps them open. 0 to 100 %
Follow the preview Loosely reads the preview as a plan for the light and lights the picture the way a photographer would. Closely matches the preview’s light more exactly. Loosely, Closely
Quality The overall finish level. Higher looks better but costs more and is slower. Medium, High
Size The relit picture’s size along its longer side. 1K, 2K, 4K

Not the one for: An edit endpoint, so it needs an input image and cannot generate from words alone. 1K and 2K cost the same and 4K doubles the price; Ultra on those tools is the 4K route.

Not the one for: A picture, which it cannot take, or a part longer than 14 seconds. A light from behind can come through faintly.
