insert-extend

Add seconds to a clip, at the end or as a new scene inside.

On the rail as insert-extend.

Making a clip run longer: carry the shot on past its end, or cut into it and add a new scene that returns to your footage, guided by words and reference pictures or clips.

It keeps your clip’s look and returns to your footage, so it cannot restyle the whole clip or fix problems already in it.

  1. Drop a clip onto the card’s Video slot.
  2. Write what you want in Steer (optional).
  3. Pick a mode on the card: At the end, Inside.
  4. Pick a model in the pill at the top of the card, or keep Gemini Omni.
  5. Press Run.

Video The clip the tool works from. Drop one from the board or your computer. One clip
Steer (optional) An optional note about what happens next. It is added to the built-in continue-forward brief, not a replacement for it. Your words
Run Starts the run. The number on it is what this run costs in credits, worked out before you press.
×1 Runs the card several times in a row with the same settings. 1 to 99

The shot carries on past the end of your clip.

Models in this mode: Gemini Omni, H3 Max, Seedance 2.0, FLUX 3.

A new scene cut into your clip, which then returns to your footage.

Models in this mode: H3 Max Insert.

The pill at the top of the card picks the model. Gemini Omni is the one a new card starts on.

Model Good for
Gemini Omni Animating one still into a 3 to 10 second clip with synced audio from a motion prompt, or moving from a first picture to an end picture, the simplest of the four modes.
H3 Max Making a clip run longer: H3 Max reads the whole clip and adds 5 to 15 seconds that carry its motion and sound forward, returning the source and the continuation as one clip at 480p, 768p, 1080p or 2K.
Seedance 2.0 The Seedance 2.0 Standard engine on four cards: draw a motion path on a scene image, sequence stills as a storyboard or reel, animate an image at up to 1080p, or extend a clip by 4 to 15 seconds, with up to 9 image and 3 video references.
FLUX 3 Continuing a clip past its final frame with 5 to 20 new seconds at 720p or 1080p, keeping the motion, scene and sound consistent, with a Draft quality for a cheap rehearsal.
H3 Max Insert Adding a new scene inside a clip: H3 Max leaves the footage at one point, plays a new scene of 5 to 13 seconds guided by words and reference pictures or clips, and comes back to the footage at a second point, all as one clip with its sound.

Not the one for: One start picture and an optional end picture, with no extra references; 16:9 or 9:16 shapes, and 10 seconds at most.

Setting What it does Choices
Extend by (s) How many seconds of new video to add to the end of your clip. Longer costs more. 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, 8s, 10s
Resolution How big and detailed the result is. Higher looks sharper but costs more and takes longer. 360p, 720p, 1080p, 4K

Not the one for: It continues what is already happening, so it cannot start a new scene, and the whole clip comes back at the chosen resolution, so a sharp source extended at 480p loses detail in its own footage too.

Extend by (s) How many seconds of new video to add to the end of your clip. Longer costs more. 5s, 6s, 8s, 10s, 12s, 15s
Resolution Your whole clip comes back at this resolution, the footage you dropped included. Higher costs more per second. 480p, 768p, 1080p, 2K

Not the one for: Clips run 4 to 15 seconds, so a longer reel needs the 2.5 or Wan engines beside it; audio is off by default, and reference-clip seconds are billed on top of the output length.

Reference window (s) How many seconds from the end of your clip the AI studies to continue the motion. Minimum 2. 2s, 2.5s, 3s, 4s

Not the one for: The source clip must be an MP4 under 15 seconds; it is priced higher per second than generating from frames, and Draft is 720p only.

Resolution How big and detailed the result is. Higher looks sharper but costs more and takes longer. 720p, 1080p

Not the one for: It keeps the clip’s own look and returns to its footage, so it cannot restyle the whole clip, and it keeps the first 1.6 seconds and the last 1.5 seconds as they are.
